The Vise is a UK crime series about the one-armed detective Mark Sarber, which aired Friday nights on ABC from December 1955 – June 1957. There were 52 thirty minutes episodes and starred Donald Gray as Mark Sarber.

He actually lost his arm in World War II. The missing arm didn’t slow Saber down. He was a determined gumshoe who could always count on his partner, Barney O’Keefe and the clingy, quite sultry, blonde secretary Stephanie.

The series was produced by Edward and Harry Lee Danziger in London and hosted by Australian actor Ron Randell. The Vise ran on ABC for two seasons, ending in June 1957.
