Starsky and Hutch is a 1970s US television series comprising 90-minute pilot movie with 92 episodes, and every episode is of 60-minutes. Starsky and Hutch is created by William Blinn, produced by Spelling-Goldberg Productions, and distributed by Columbia Pictures Television in the United States.

Starsky and Hutch has two protagonists, which create all the interest in the series. Both protagonists belong to Southern California. David Starsky (Paul Michael Glaser) is a dark-haired Brooklyn, who is a kind of streetwise detective having childish reactions; and the blond Duluth named, Kenneth ‘Hutch’ Hutchinson (David Soul), who’s a native of Minnesota. As compared to David Starsky, Kenneth ‘Hutch is portrayed as intellectual character having matured and reserved nature by all means.

When Starsky and Hutch receive radio call sign “Zebra Three,” they start moving to street of a fictional big city abbreviated as CBPD. The two-door Ford Gran Torino is favourite vehicle of Starsky. Hutch has a battered car, which is a tan 1973 Ford Galaxie 500. The duo used separate vehicles for their undercover operations.

The vehicle contains red with a large white vector stripe. The amazing looking car is named “Striped Tomato” by Hutch in yet another popular series of the episode, titled, “Kill Huggy Bear.”Starsky and Hutch had underworld contacts with Huggy Bear (Antonio Fargas). Huggy dresses in an exorbitant style and runs his own private bar under the name Huggy Bear’s. The Bar later come to be known as The Pits.

Captain Harold C. Dobey is the reporting boss of Starsky and Hutch. He seems to be bad-tempered fellow, but is honest in his work. The role of Captain Harold C. Dobey is played by Bernie Hamilton in all the series. As first unique and popular shows in US television, Starsky and Hutch showed black characters in a positive and confident way. Starsky and Hutch shows the underworld Huggy as the black in a positive role, and who is helpful to the duo cops.

Starsky and Hutch as a TV show is amazing and adventurous to see. The two principal characters Starsky and Hutch play their own trustworthy and effective roles during the entire series, and which helps them to track down the underworld. Both are trained to play down black life of underworld mafia and don, and shows how city’s police department tracks down the criminals on taking tip off from within their confidants.

Starsky and Hutch are two fiery detectives whose actions are justified with the steps taken by them to destroy the network of organized crime in the hypothetical city. There’s enough of adventure going in every series, as Starsky and Hutch do every possible act to nab the criminals and book them for the crimes committed by them.

Starsky and Hutch as series have got all the intellect, license and foresight to kill smugglers and drug peddlers, should they try to go out of their control. What’s more, both Starsky and Hutch are professional detective cops that make their best services available to the city, and keep the city crime free.
